why choose Scotcloth?
The Scotcloth archives includes over 1000 preset designs for all categories of clothing and furnishing fabrics. The library also contains a wide range of fabric constructions which can be used, with the simple click of a button to alter the appearance of an image.
Our colloboration with Pantone© gives the user the possibility of colour change, with colour references which allow for accurate translations of requirements from source to chosen manufacturer.
Scotcloth recommends that physical Pantone© colour chips are used to check for accuracy as each computer screen and printer can show colour variance.
Scotcloth is a PC based software package. It can be used on an Apple Mac with Windows 10 and Parallels software to create a virtual PC.
Scotcloth was founded by Hamish I Carruthers MBE, FRSA and David Kemp in 2006. Professor Sheila-Mary Carruthers FTI; FRSA is a director of Scotcloth, together they have over 90 years experience in textile design.
Scotcloth is based on the globally known Scotweave computer aided design and management system, which has been perfected over 25 years and is one of the most versatile textile design engines in the world.
Scotcloth has simplified this system to make the process of textile design available to both the inexperienced and experienced operator.
